How to print and assemble a party hat template at home, from paper weight to elastic.
Paper. Matte cardstock, 160 to 200 gsm. Plain paper rolls fine and then folds the first time it is worn. Select “Actual size” or 100%: the sector radius is what decides whether the cone closes.
Cutting. Cut the outer arc and both straight edges on the dashed 0.25 pt line. The tab on the left edge stays on: it is the glue flap, and the dotted coral line is where it folds.
Rolling. Bring the two straight edges together, slide the tab under the opposite edge and press. A glue stick holds well enough; double-sided tape holds better if children are involved.
Wearing. Punch a hole either side near the bottom rim and tie thin elastic between them. A pom pom or a paper tassel glued to the tip covers the small opening at the top.

The hat shares its palette, its cut line and its paper with every other piece, so it can join a banner, toppers, signs and tags instead of standing on its own.

What size is the finished hat?
The pattern is a 95 mm sector, so a finished cone is roughly 14 cm across the base and 6 to 7 cm tall: a wide, low party hat rather than a tall witch cone. It is printed at true size, never scaled to fit.
What paper should I use?
Matte cardstock of 160 to 200 gsm. Ordinary paper will roll into a cone but collapses as soon as it is worn. Feed card one sheet at a time through the rear or manual tray.
How do I keep it on a head?
Punch a small hole either side near the bottom edge and tie thin elastic between them. Elastic is more comfortable than a chin string and survives being pulled off and on all afternoon.
Is there a matching banner?
Yes. The hat shares its palette and cut lines with the whole kit, so it sits next to the printable happy birthday banner and the rest of the birthday set without looking borrowed.
